Introducing Tele Health programs for Women at Boothalingam Library, MS Swaminathan Research Foundation

Through the Indian Public Library initiative, and in support from Apollo Hospital in Chennai, the INELI Innovator Mr. Janakiraman organised the fortnightly workshop on raising awareness on health using video conferencing facility to reach out to many audiences in the state of Tamil Nadu. 8 INELI Innovators from 8 districts across Tamil Nadu were virtually connected, where more than 45 number of audiences were present to learn more on this topic. Thiruvannamalai, Karur, Kannivadi - Dindigul, Thottiam- Trichy, Manalurpet - Viluppuram, Thirvaiyaru - Thanjavur and Melpatti - Puddukottai are the districts covered during this session.

Dr. Meera Raghavan, Obstetrician & Uro Gynaecologist from Apollo hospital shared information on issues related to Menstrual Disorders in the local vernacular, on 23rd March 2017. The menstrual disorder is the universal phenomenon and a common problem during adolescence. These disorders may cause significant anxiety for patients and their families. Physical and psychological factors usually contribute to the problem. Attempts are currently underway to establish a standardized international nomenclature for menstrual disorders.
